I had just 1/2 my thyroid removed. The nodule was quite large and when they got in there they found it to have grown down into my chest cavity to about
the size of a grapefruit. No cancer. I was there for 23 hours and then home. Yes, some discomfort and a drain tube but not bad compared to my other surgeries. Also my voice came back within a couple days. I thought it was pretty easy overall. It has been almost 8 months and the scar looks pretty darn good.
