Hello. I'm really confused about my thyroid and ANA results. I'm 20, female diagnosed with Hashimoto's at age 10 (thanks to mono). Up until a few years ago my ANA, antibodies, TSH, T3, and T4 all indicated Hashimotos then all of a sudden my thyroid tests consistently came back in the "normal range." normal range? Hmmm….Although I've gradually regained some of my energy, I still have to save my strength for stuff like grocery shopping and swimming laps.

My ANA is really weird. From mid- May until mid-June I had unexplained anemia (iron was fine) and upper-right-quadrant pain. So I went to a GI doc who tested my ANA after ruling out GI tract bleeding. ANA was 1:160 fine speckled. The pain turned out to be my gallbladder which was removed 3 weeks ago. RUQ pain is gone and a week ago my CBC, Iron, TSH, T3, T4 were all "normal" and ANA and all antibodies were "Negative" I couldn't get the exact numbers because my doc doesn't let patients get their exact numbers over the phone.

I have no idea what to think now....

My doctor said Hastimotos is a virus that attacks your thyroid for awhile. Then you're normal for awhile. Then your thyroid starts slowly dying. I'm in the last stage. This time span can be quick or last a long time.
Normal TSH is .03-2.5. Some doctors think normal is .03-5.
