Dear friends!
I have 5mm hypoechoic nodule of the left lobe of the thyroid and doctor recommend next ultrasound after one year.
My blood test is ok for thyroid but ESR is very high,hs-CRP is very high.
Can you please tell me do I have cancer?

What I should do?
Do I need biopsy?
It was in 2007 2,5mm and now is 5mm

Kiss from Slada

There is a chance for hypoechoic nodules to turn cancerous. But if you're very worried ask him for a fine needle biopsy as a preventative, because of the growth in size.

Thank you so much!
Should I ask to see endocrinologist?

I believe an endocrinologist should do it. Ask for a referal to one. The bloodwork can be done by your doctor.

ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) or just "sedrate" and CRP (C-reactive protein) are common blood tests often ordered for arthritis.
They measure inflamation levels.
The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) is an easy, inexpensive, nonspecific test that has been used for many years to help detect conditions associated with acute and chronic inflammation, including infections, cancers, and autoimmune diseases. ESR is said to be nonspecific because increased results do not tell the doctor exactly where the inflammation is in the body or what is causing it, and also because it can be affected by other conditions besides inflammation. For this reason, the ESR is typically used in conjunction with other tests.
ESR is helpful in diagnosing two specific inflammatory diseases, temporal arteritis and polymyalgia rheumatica. A high ESR is one of the main test results used to support the diagnosis. It is also used to monitor disease activity and response to therapy in both of these diseases.

I hope this helps.

I think it might be a good idea just to get it checked out. But more then likely it is nothing to worry about. High ESR and CRP are not things to get super worried about, for right now.
