Can anyone tell me if a cortisol level of 6 is low?  It was taken at 11am.

Thanks.

5–23 micrograms per deciliter (mcg/dL) or 138–635 nanomoles per liter (nmol/L)
are the normal morning levels.
3–13 mcg/dL or 83–359 nmol/L are the afternoon levels.

I am currently seeing an endocrinologist and she always tells me to make sure I have the cortisol done as close to 8am as possible..As you probably know the cortisol levels are suppose to decrease as the day goes on so having it done first thing in the morning is the most accurate.
