Overwhelming fatigue, dizziness, nausea, night sweats, brain fog, heart palpitations, confusion, difficulty concentrating, stomach cramps, depression, hot flushes, chills, metallic taste, insomnia, difficulty in waking up and difficulty in finding words.
Does it sound familiar? I've been experiencing these symptoms for the last 3 years. They have started suddenly, they vary in their strength but they never let go. Every day is a struggle and on the days when symptoms worsen I think of death kindly. Doctors provide no help - as long as your tests do not show anything quite abnormal you are not sick from their point of view. They repeat their usual mantra: "Stress, depression, hypochondria".
Users in the forums like this one are much more understanding. A lot of them know exactly what I am talking about, and while some of them know their own illness better than their doctors they usually quite unaware of other medical conditions and have a tendency to see in other maladies the sign of their own illness.
Yet the symptoms that I have listed at the top of the message are common to several different health conditions, namely: Lead Poisoning, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Celiac Disease, Candida Overgrowth, Gilbert's Syndrome, Cushing's Disease, Hyperthyroidism, Lyme Disease, Adrenal Fatigue and possibly some others.
The point that I am making is quite simple - it is impossible for me to express how tired I am of being constantly sick and how frustrated I am with the doctors. I hope that someone in the forum can match his or her symptoms with very specific symptoms that I list below (rather than the general symptoms that I've listed on top of this message) to help in diagnosing what the hell is wrong with me:
* Symptoms usually significantly subside with sleep but back to their full strength upon wakefulness. It is not the posture that matters, but rather the level of alertness and emotional tension - the greater the alertness the stronger the symptoms.
* Symptoms usually subside during meals. Meals do not appear to mask them but genuinely reduce stomach cramping, nausea and even the degree of mental fog, yet 20-40 minutes after meal the symptoms return with vengeance and generally are much stronger then before the meal.
* Strong bitter metallic (yet occasionally intensely sweet) taste (mostly on the left side of the mouth) as well as ringing in ears serves as precursors to severity of the symptoms. The more bitter (or rather caustic, almost like sucking on a battery) the taste, the more intense the ringing the more severe the whole group of symptoms for the next several days or weeks will be.
* During periods of severe and moderately severe symptoms which may last for 2-6 months my rather regular herpes outbreaks completely disappear.
* When symptoms gets most severe the ranging in ears masks sounds of traffic and human voices, eyes start to burn and the visual field is filled with a myriad of vary frequently pulsating dots, thoughts shimmer with mental echoes, dizziness prevents walking, intense nausea, caustic metallic taste... It all feels like if every dot of my being is filled with TV static.
* There are generally four sets of pains that accompany the symptoms. Stomach cramping that is usually accompanied by excessive salivation, lower back pains (probably kidneys) mostly happen at night, heart pains and (weirdly enough) teeth pain - that is somehow both dull and intense and feels unlike any normal tooth pain. The sets never overlap, but rather rotate, with some lasting days, other - weeks.
I apologize for already quite long post, and ask for your help. If you, the reader, experience similar set of symptoms and know your diagnosis, please let me know. I also appreciate any thought on the subject that may help with differential diagnosis. Those of you who have the symptoms but like me have no clue of the causes feel free to contact me - let us stay in touch - for sooner or later one of us may find the answer for all of us.

What kind of testing have you had done?
The stomach problems need to be addressed by a Gastro doctor.
You may have a sugar problems. Get a A1c test done.
The hearing and vision issue problems could be migranes.

Multiple blood tests for hormonal dysfunction, heavy metal toxicity, sugar levels, etc were performed - the only finding is slightly elevated sugar and cortisol levels as well as slight under-performance of thyroid. Non of the medication prescribed for the above conditions worked - they provide absolutely no difference and only add occasional medication-specific side-effects to the overall picture.

I've seen the Castro doctor and underwent endoscopy - findings: normal except for common h pylori infestation for which I've been given antibiotics. Post tests showed 100% cure from h pylori - but the whole thing made zero effect on my symptoms.

I've checked my blood sugar for a while - it is certainly within norm and does not correlate to severity of the symptoms.

My vision and hearing problems always go hand in hand with stomach cramping, metallic taste and confusion - they never appear alone. Therefore I think the cause of the the whole thing is one condition - the diabetes was my most likely candidate, but it does not appear to be it. Brain tumor was the other suspect - but MRI scan came negative.

Thank you very much for the reply. I need any help I can get. And sooner or later over collaborative effort I hope to stumble on the solution. Thank you again

I looked up some of your symptoms on the web and got this:
Results: Causes of Abdominal pain AND Metallic taste AND Stomach upset AND Taste symptoms
1. Acute mercury inhalation
2. Gastritis
3. Heartburn
4. Pyrosis - A condition which is characterized by chest pain and a burning like sensation after the consumption of food.
Does any of this sound familar?

I've done my share of searches - mercury and lead poisoning were high on my list, but since all blood tests came out negative for heavy metals, I do not believe the mercury is responsible. And the "Acute" part should have changed in 3 years, but my symptoms did not. Neither gastritis nor heartburn cause memory and perception problems and my symptoms always come as a package - the problem must lie on a deeper levels since it affects the whole being. The same goes with Pyrosis. Couchtater, thank you for trying though.

I have had the same symptoms that you have and I have a suspicion it is mercury poisoning

through you fillings. That might explain why your symptoms get better when you eat. When

you have different types of metal in your mouth they act as a battery and you get shocks and

the metal taste in your mouth. There is a book by Hal Huggins called "It's all in your head" that

you might want to research and read. I had all the fillings removed from my teeth by a natural

dentist because you don't want it done by a dentist that is not aware of the dangers involved in

the removal of mercury fillings. It will make your symptoms worse. All the other health problems

are caused by the breaking down of the immune system. You probably do have thyroid, adrenal,

and all the other health issues as a result of this. You need to see a natural/medical doctor or

call one to get specific tests done, because I went to seven doctors and they told me the

same thing they told you. All they wanted to do was to put me on antibiotics or

antidepressants. Their tests are not adequate enough to detect these kind of health issues.

I have been trying to rebuild my health for many years and I am excited about the new

remedies out there now to help people like us. I've learned a lot through the years and I can help

speed your healing process if you need help with your other issues.

You probably need some thyroid med to balance you out. Ask your doctor to do a full screening panel the see how much you need.
My cousin has lymes and it's tricky to treat.
Good luck.

I live in tick country and I contracted lymes, but I am allergic to antibiotics so I had to go to another alternative. I used grapeFruitseed capsules and essiac tea to cure my lymes. If you get bit by a tick and take this remedy right away, it will prevent you from getting lymes also, it's that powerful. It relieves the symptoms RIGHT AWAY too. I got this information
off a canadian site where they have lot's of ticks. You can get these products from the site
herbalhealer.com. They will get it out to you in 3 days. This is a very inexpensive solution.
My lymes was in the more advanced stages too. My husband only took the grapefruitseed
capsules and it knocked his out within a couple of days.

I actually feel really similar, and I also have no idea what it could be. I'm also lost and almost hopeless. I also have a metallic taste in my mouth... and I can't tell you how crazy it is for you to mention the TV static thing because that is something I've strongly thought to myself about this. God, what could it be? For me though the symptoms never go away, they've never gone away once for 5 years. My life was derailed and I dunno what keeps me living. arrogance or some strange sense of pride, I guess. But yeah. my heart is constantly pumping too hard, it's too uncomfortable to get to sleep a lot of the time because I can feel my heart beating through my chest and onto the floor/mattress. It feels like something is constricting my body and soul from my chest to my throat to my brain. I can never, ever find words, and when I do I feel a small sense of accomplishment. agh. The potential for me to feel good is not even there. The potential for me to have fun is not even there. I can't speak my mind because I scarcely know what is on my mind. constant depression. I always see little sparks in my vision. The first time it happened I was like Oh God no, now it's like I'm seeing cigarette burns on an old reel of film in my vision - now it gone insane. I feel brain dead a lot of the time. I'm taking so many supplements. I recently saw an herbalist and he said it could be a nasty sinus infection that's just getting worse without showing any symptoms like boogers and just making its way through my body, it could be also a GI tract infection - because I was crapting blood for a while, or it could be a parasite. The parasite thing makes the most sense to me for some reason because it's often felt like something's just been sucking the life force out of me. I've started taking hymalayan salt brine everyday, custom nasal spray 7.0, diatamaceaous earth with zeolite powder, lots of various supplements I can't remember them all. I'd recommend the salt brine to anyone - it will just make you feel nice. it made all my extremities feel alive, but the core of myself was still in pain, all torn up. but its nice. All these things I'm taking seem to only make me feel a bit healthier and relieve some of the overwhelming depression, but it's not taking care of the root cause of this. I'm sorry, man, I'm right there with you and I also have no idea what it could be and I've been hoping to go see a doctor in january when I'm eligible for insurance again. hopefully I find some luck and they find something. I can't get my hopes up though. Just getting to january will be a really tough feat in itself.

What happened to you 5 years ago that may have triggered all these symptoms? Did you
go on a trip anywhere, have surgery or some other type of exposure?

Not that I can remember, riata. I keep trying to remember something. No surgery, no exposure I can think of. I mean, I got scrapes here and there. There might have been a small trip somewhere but I can't remember. I don't think so. What I remember is a quick onset of it and thinking to myself "What's happening to me?" And then I slipped away. It's like your soul's like sand slipping through your fingers. one of the most precious things to not be able to hold on to. and I still can't find it. When I think of that, the depression hits me like a ton of bricks. and it sucks because when I try and explain this to someone for the first time they want to dismiss so badly for some reason. It's like something in them is riding on dismissing it as common anxiety, but the depth of it is something I can only explain as an unholy experience.

I just remembered that I had that same feeling with my heart and
some of the other symptoms and I discovered that I had a really bad allergy to
anything that contained caffeine. From tea to chocolate, coffee, pop etc. I
still to this day avoid them completely. For an infection I take grapefruitseed
liquid or capsules and a goldenseal/echinacea supplement. Also higher doses
of vitamin C. The grapefruitseed will kill any type of infection, whether a
a virus, microbe, bacterial or a parasite.

Interesting. I'll look into the grapefruit seed. I've eaten chocolate and drank soda all my life though. But I'll look into the grapefruit seed to try and kill off whatever's inside me that shouldn't be there. If it is a sort of infection causing this. I take iodine everyday though.

No, I recently started taking diatamacaeous earth with zeolites powder mixed in purified water to purify my body and drive out any heavy metals that shouldn't be there. It's also supposed to kill off parasites. I wasn't supposed to start it until November, but I was given the recipe and couldn't help myself, I got desperate. Before this No I never tried to purify my body. I took vitamins everyday for a while.

I drank soda and tea and ate chocolate all my life too, and
it hit me like a ton of bricks one night. I felt like my heart
was racing so fast that I thought I was going to have a
heart attack. My head was so messed up I couldn't function,
like in a nightmare. I felt like everything was dark and death
was swallowing me up like nothing you can explain. It took
me a while, but I finally figured out it was the pop and other
caffeine products I was taking. Try a fast one day and only drink
diluted fruit juices or water for a day and see how you feel. Rest
that day too. (weekend works best)

I haven't drank coffee in months and I cut soda out of my diet a long time ago. I haven't had chocolate in about a week. Thanks, but I've mostly been just drinking water and milk recently, if even milk. All I can do is "rest", but it's not truly resting. relaxation is a distant memory.

You need to start colon cleaning with an inexpensive colon kit at walmart or
a pharmacy. Walmarts" have a strong odor to theirs because the plastic is
cheaper. Your colon holds a lot of your toxins and a good colon flush will
give you a big boost at eliminating toxins. It is not a "pretty" thing to do
but it works!

Perhaps that might help. thanks. I also get these strange flashes of cooling sensations, I guess I could call it, all over my body. It's mostly around my hips and abdomen. I just remembered because they started happening again right now. I don't know what that is. and it happens a lot.

This all has to be interconnected somehow. I didn't used to get that five years ago. And it turns out my mom had some grapefruit seed extract in the cupboard. I just took three capsules.

I found a product that you might find interesting. It is called "Achillian Ultimate 9"
You can find it at http://www.achillian ultimate9.com/ I just purchased some
because it is supposed to start healing from the cells and it does do some detoxing
too. I just ordered some and I am experimenting on my 16 cat first. He looks like
he is on his last lap. After a week he is slowly starting to look like he just might live!
I am so sensitive to everything that I have everyone else try it first! This product is
supposed to work very slowly. (Which is good) It is also very inexpensive.
