After suffering through 13 yrs of unstable thyroid levels from Hashimotos Thyroiditis and Hypothyroidism I am finally getting consistent labs. This is the 2nd month and with labs coming back stable. Only this year did my Rheumy agree with me to try T3 along with T4.yeah I have had a weight gain despite exercise and diet. Having not had predisone for over 8 months I knew the weight was from thyroid issue. My joint neck and leg pains were increased no matter my connective tissue tx. The extra weight was causing increased pain and inflammation sx. He thought it was due to Cymbalta tolerance peak. I now have a chance to lose this weight and maybe end the cough that is caused by the weight around my neck. tongue
I urge all persons that have difficulty getting their thyroid levels stable to urge their dr to consider adding T3 to T4 and check labs again as a rule out. You might get negative feedback from your Dr but you are allowed to request alternate tx if their current therapy is not offering improvement. Good luck to all. And Happy Holidays.
