Well, I went back to the doctor yesterday (a rhuemy) and we've been trying to figure out if my thyroid could be causing some pain symptoms that I'm having. I had an ultrasound done a few months ago and he said the thyroid was enlarged on that ultrasound vs. a previous one. He also said that the blood flow was different, but no masses or nodules, so that's good. Then, before I left he got distracted because he heard an irregular heart beat and had me get an EKG and wear a 24 hr. holter moniter, so nothing really came of the appointment. I see my GP next week as a follow up for the monitor.
I'm so frustrated and not even sure what to ask to be done. I'm wondering if my joint pain, heart palpatations, and fatigue are all due to my thyroid, but can't get an answer. He did a TSH test, but I haven't heard back on that yet. about a year ago I had blood work done and all of the tests then (including thyroid) were normal. I guess I just don't know where to go from here. I've been seeing this rheumy for a little less than a year because my GP couldn't figure out why I'm having horrible joint pain, he's thinking that my thyroid should be the culprit because he can't find anything else, but my SED rate is 0, so he doesn't think it could be thyroiditis.
I just feel like I am staying in square one and not ever getting anywhere. Does anyone have any advice or has anyone gone through all of this before? I've been tested for everything and can't find any answers and I'm at my wits end. I guess I'm just looking for some hope that they will find the answer some day. I'm sick of not even being 30 and feeling like I'm 80. Thanks for listening.
