I was scheduled to see a new endocrinologist for a second opinion on the Hashimoto's diagnosis and treatment (non)plan. Today, the doctor's office called, canceling the appointment. She hasn't seen my labs, talked to me, or examined me, but she decided that she would tell me the same thing that the first endo told me.

I am SO annoyed right now. Fortunately, I found another endo in town who WILL see me on Friday.

Has anyone else had that happen? It seems so unprofessional to me.

Sorry, but I had to vent. Have a great day!

If they didn't see any of your labs I don't understand how they can give you a dx.
Hope this new Endo follows thru. Good Luck.

Woohoo!!!! This new Endo ROCKS!!! She listened to me, looked at my old labs, examined me, and then ordered a boat load of tests! 5 tubes of blood drawn, a really cool memory test taken (it tests for early dementia, which I evidently don't have), a jug for a 24-hour urine collection (anyone able to tell me why???), and a basal metabolism test and ultrasound ordered (metabolism test Friday, and the ultrasound the following Wednesday).

I'm so much more at ease, just knowing that she paid attention to me.

The 24hr test is to check your kidney functions. The doctor wants to see if your kidneys are working right.
