Hi does anyone out there no about Synthoid.

I was on two pills a day of Tapazole 5mg after 5 weeks my t4 was 8.2 too low.

I went to see my endocrinologist today for the results of my blood work after

being on one Tapazole 5mg I am now 27.2 (too high) He now wants me to

take 2 Tapazole and then 1 Synthroid to balance.....I don't know why I just

can't take 1 1/2 of the Tapazole......Also, does anyone know of any non-

synthetic drug that is animal based instead of the Synthroid....I want to

keep away from the synthetic drugs if possible....any info would be appreciated...

thanks,

I've been on synthoid for two years now and I've had no problems with it. It's kept me balanced.

I've been well-balanced on synthroid for ten years now, with no side effects.

If you're really set on a non-synthetic, Armour makes a preparation from animal thyroid glands which some people prefer. Ask your doctor about this.

Although I hate medications, Levothyroxine gave me my energy back. I'm just still a bit tired in the evenings, but feel normal all day.

My synthroid level is 25 mgs per day, the lowest I can take.  I have been on it for 4 months with no ill side effects.  I have been told that I will need to be on this the rest of my life due to hypothyroidism.

I take thyroid therapy i get it from the health food store. Ask your doctor about it. I also take my thyroid meds. It has really helped my thyroid.

Best regards,

Never heard of Synthoid, til I came here, and did a search for it, I'm on Levothyroxine myself.

Levothyroxine is the generic version of synthoid. :)
