I'm sorry, but I have some questions...My new Doctor is a Internal Medicine Dr., and she has referred me to a Endocrinologist, whom I can't see until August. I have tried to research about Endocrinology but thought maybe someone on this site would have knowledge too.
December I began being constipated (i know this doesn't sound like the right thread site to be on but bear w/me pleez). By January/February I was having to take laxatives to go. I gained like 25-pounds in 1-month all in my belly. Having a number of tests thru to April, which each week I was continuing to gain weight by the day. Everything going in my mouth was not coming out and we thought the weight gain had to do with that. My intestines quit moving and May 10, I had to have a Loop ileostomy. Everyone said I would lose weight then...
However, in the last 2-weeks I have gained 5-more pounds. I have gained a total of 54-pounds so far, with no end in sight. I am terrified and no one but me and my husband seems to be alarmed about this.
One of my questions is can weight gain like mine be associated with Endocrine Issues? Does Cholesterol problems fit into the Endocrine family? As my Trigylcerides were 1072 and LDL 134, and this is all new to me as well. Can hormone problems in any way be related with Endocrine family?
I'm sorry if this sounds all to ridiculous, however, I am almost too my limit of so many new medical problems happening. My weight gain is truly affecting my everyday life, how I see myself, and my Mental Health problems are swirling around with my emotions due to how I look and feel.
Thank you for listening to me...Sorry if I'm on the wrong thread, I just thought perhaps these things were related somehow with how the body system works.

An endocrinoligist will help you if it's a hormonal issue. Have you been checked for an autoimmune disease also?
