Hi I have 2 small nodule one 3mm of R and 4mm on L. I know they are small but my question is my throat hurts. If I don't talk 99% of the day it on't hurt but if I talk for 20 min or so or off and on threw out the day or sing on song my throat hurts. It don't hurt to swallow just a burning pain all the time. Has anyone else had this problem is this a sign of cancer? I am wating for my referal letter to go threw so I can make an appt. hoefuly tomorrow.

Thanks

You might be having acid reflux in your throat. Do you ever get heartburn?

nope don't ever get heartburn. my throat started hurting about a month to month and a half ago. It is just something, at first, I They then found the nodules and that is the only thing I think it could be for this to be coming and going and not hurting to swallow , that is what I think is weird.

My throat also hurts. I had a fine needle biopsy and I do not have cancer. It may turn out that they will look for thyroid antibodies and you will just have Hashimoto's thyroiditis. I would not be too focused on cancer and go with the more common thyroid problem. I hope you feel better very soon.

People who have thyroiditis have only a 5% increased risk of cancer
of the thyroid than does everyone else. Therefore, chances are that you do not have cancer, but wait until the biopsy and bloodwork come back before you get really concerned.

Your specialist will advise you about what he recommends for your treatment and the different methods of treatment. You very likely will just be put on a thyroid supplement, but if the pain bothers you he might suggest that the thyroid gland be removed. You will have a
choice of routes to follow.

Take care and don't worry.
