Hi There,

I have had numbness, cold burning, tingling sensation in my left thigh. It began 2 years ago , just a small area and is now about 2 inch by 4 inch and is constantly numb. Its worse when i stand or walk.I have had to constantly  ask my doctor to let me see a specialist as he seems to think this is nothing.

I have had a nerve conduction test which shows some loss of nerve.

I was diagnosed with Meralgia Parethetica ( this is not) as i have had a MRI scan and there  is no nerve trapped. I was then given a steroid injection into my groin, no change then given another , the pain went but the numbness stayed. After 4 weeks the pain came back but worse. I am now being refered to a pain clinic, not sure they can help.

Someone mentioned that it could be my thyroid, i do have an underactive thyriod but taking throxine.

I feel the nerve is numb for a reason .. i just need to know the cause???? cry
