I am a hypo patient. I am wondering if any of you have experienced fibromyalgia symptoms with thyroid issues.

I have been experiencing pain in my neck, shoulders, and back, along with other symptoms. How likely is it that someone with hypo to develop fibro? I know that there is a connection, but just wondered if anyone had experienced it.

I have both and have read that fibro can be a result of thyroid issues that have gone either untreated or under treated. I have read that thyroid issues can lead to many things and one of them I'm dealing with now is adrenal exhaustion.

I'm still looking for a dr in my area that I can afford without insurance. I pray you get your answers.

I know that my thyroid issues have been untreated for at least a year and possibly longer. I am sure that a lot of things could occur now because of the thyroid. The thyroid really does affect so many other aspects of your body. I just hope that this isn't one of the things it leads to for me. I am too young to be falling apart like this.

I am going to a general physician right now and the insurance pays. Luckily he is talking with an endo about it all and I don't have to pay the specialist price. Praying you can find some insurance.

I've probably had health issues for over 30yrs. All the drs I went to when I HAD insurance had me take the same tired old test which always came up negative. The last MD I went to five yrs ago, said I had fibro and thyroid issues but he woudln't do anything because the conventional treatment had too many side effects. Last year or so, I went to a Naturopath dr who was expensive but I finally began feeling a bit better. However, after 8mos she never got around to testing my iodine or other things I felt could really help so after spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars, I didn't go back and stopped all the expensive vitamins she prescribed.

My dh could get insurance at his company, but it's very expensive and covers almost nothing. Didn't cover lab work or tests. Didn't cover prescriptions or dental or vision or even specialists. Just dr visit copays after you reach a high deductible. We opted out.

I can't seem to find a dr in my area that will both treat me outside of conventional methods and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Unfortunately, I'm now 50 and I've been getting much worse the last several months. I went from having adrenal fatigue to what I believe is now adrenal exhaustion in it's last stages. Gotta do something soon but I don't want to try things on my own and I can't find a dr I trust. I also don't want to throw a bunch of money I don't really have at an unknown dr and see what sticks/works.

Frustrating!

If you know that you have a thyroid issue (this is a thyroid forum), then the treatment has no side effects, actually it could be that all you have is a thyroid issue, the treatment if you are hypOthyroid is a thyroid hormone replacement which already exists in the body, it is Levothyroxine.

In my opinion, you need to test your self for thyroid and start addressing it, the tests are : TSH,FT3 and FT4.

It worth mentioning that if you have adrenal fatigue, then you should address it before the thyroid problem.

Once you address your adrenals, the process of stabilizing your thyroid is not difficult but could be long if you have an autoimmune thyroiditis, this can be done by an Endo or your GP.
