I am not new to Hypothyroidism I have suffered with it for years. My problem is for the past 2 years I have been fighting how much I need to be on. What makes me feel good is a slightly higher THS level than what is considered in range. At least I can function.

My problem is getting adjusted. I was taken off for 11 months because I complained of having the shaky insides and loud ringing in my ears. After being off for a couple of months it all dissipated. I was recently put on Syntroid the lowest dose since my last THS was .571 T3 0.9 T4 0.9 and now the same problems have returned.

My question is: Does this mean I need more than what I am on or less than?
Anyone have this problem?

I would guess the "shaky" feelings could be hyperthyroidism, but possibly many other things also.

As far as the ringing in the ears, this could be completely separate. Most thyroid problems have an autoimmune cause. You can also get autoimmune tinnitus (ringing in the ears.) I'd suggest an evaluation by a competent audiologist, who will likely recommend an ENT evaluation. There are other things, such as auditory nerve tumors, that can cause tinnitus also.

Thank you for replying.

After being off the meds my ringing/roaring dissipated and so did the shakes. I have been evaluated by a ENT, hearing test, MRI brain. Nothing found.

I only suffer with it when put on thyroid meds. My levels were in range for months without ANY meds then my THS went to 9.550. I was put back on on synthroid for a month .50 mcg they dropped to 5.71 and that's when I started getting the ringing/roaring ears and shaky insides. So I am confused on should I be taking the meds or not. I go back in 3 weeks for a follow up, but I cannot funtion on these meds.

I can relate the 2 issues with my thyroid meds. This is not the first time this has happened to me. I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. If I take the meds I get shaky insides and the ear ringing/roaring, but then my levels slowy go down. If I don't take the meds I don't have this feeling and my levels go up. I also don't sleep or eat when I take the meds and I cannot function!

I have discussed this with my doctor(s) and no one seems to have a answer.
Any suggestions or comment are greatly appreciated.
