Earlier my right pointer finger tingled and hurt a bit while it swelled and turned a bit red. As that started to go away, my arm then started to shake uncontrollably for five minutes. That has never happened before.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this when dealing with Hypothyroidism? Or know anyone who does?

Any help is much appreciated. x

We aren't doctors, and apparently no one has experienced this. I've never heard of this type of reaction. You really should talk to your doctor about it. Good luck.

Hi everyone! New to this forum. TSH level 8.3. Everything else normal. Have had hypothyroidal symptoms for a couple years now but I attributed them to menopause or just getting old. (I'm 50). Finally went to the doctor 3/10/14 when my symptoms were becoming intolerable. One of the more recent symptoms was a swollen middle finger on my right hand when I woke up in the morning. My entire hand, wrist and up to my elbow also throbbed in pain. This was just one of several issues I've been suffering with, but it was the 'straw that broke the camel's back' and caused me to finally get my labs checked and eventually start synthroid. I've been on 25 mcg daily of synthroid for only 5 days now and I feel a lot better already. I've also had an arthritic type knot on my right ring finger knuckle, about the size of a pea, that would hurt and burn like a toothache, especially in the mornings. And even that seems to have subsided, almost completely. I'm just so grateful. I hope you all are finding relief from your symptoms. : )
