ok well to start off my name is steven and just turned 26 in march. ive been dealing with hashimoto's for a while now cant say that long compaired to some of the stories ive read...im at a point where i dont kno what to do now expect turn to this site hoping for some suggestions or things of that nature cuz nothing seems to help me symptoms, ive been on levothyroxin 100mcg, armor thyroid 75mg, senthroid i think and now yesterday i have started a different one Nature thyroid. but so far all the thyroid meds ive been on still have left me symptomatic. its pretty much stripped the urge for me to do anything. i takes 6mg of xanax at once everyday and i still am on edge. ive gone through two $2000 custom built liquid cooling pcs that i did cuz of my rage, thrown a brick through my back windshield, broke casio commando phone...which is like very hard, took a screw driver to my intieror of my car. completly destroyed the center console with my foot. so i have no vents or anything in the middle. then wrecked the car on my birthday not trying to tho...just luck. ive been on antidepressents and they dont work just make me worse. i do see a haulistic doctor so i take natural supplements and what not im going to list them here: this is my shake that i do ( GI complete, detox ultimate inflame, probiomax plus DF, ultra inflam x360. other 2 supplements i got from him are adrenevive and phosphatidyl serine. my wife also bought me some adrenacalm kr-16 multivitamin cream. morning vitamins: super b complex, perfect iron, 1k mg of vitamin C. for night i take calcium magnesium and zinc..and i still pretty much get every symptom hashi has to offer..the pains suck and what makes it worse on me is i would love to participate in the house i am married but there is sometimes i cant do it...and it makes me feel worse. my wife has been the best support system so far...
ive been baker acted cuz i told my phyc i wanted to kill myself cuz i was tired of spending everyday like this...cuz i dont really catch a break at all.. this has also caused me to lose my job i was out on a LOA for like 9months came back with phsyc doctors note saying only 4hours max per day when i was a hard ass busting full time employee, i couldnt even make it 4 hours... the past week or 2 ive been yelling in my sleep or waking up very angry or extreme anxiety and woke up one time hallucinating completely scared not wanting to look around or anything i didnt even attempt to call my sheperds cuz i was litterly too scared...theres probably other stuff ive missed. but anyone kno of a suggestion? i will post my last labs later wife is looking for them. ive even had a neuro test checking gaba dopamine seratonin cortisol and like 3 others but my cortisol was so bad they didnt even give a full circle on the chart of my highest peak of the day...doctor considered me hyperreactive.

i got labs

TSH 4.8, T4 1.1, T3 3.5, antibodies 1000 this is my latest test taked at 2/5/14

still looking for the neuro test...and i will b doing a stool test

Welcome to HealingWell, Steven. Your behavioral symptoms sound completely uncharacteristic for any type of thyroid problem, so glad you're looking further for the answer to those.

We do have some members with Hashi's, hopefully some of them will be around. The forum is pretty quiet, so it may be tomorrow or so before they show.

In the meantime, you might consider breaking your post up a bit with paragraphs. Very long posts with no breaks are harder to read, and many people will simply pass them by.

Have a great day!

here is a story of what my wife sent me and its pretty much on T to how i feel

"This is my story with Hashi’s. 5 yrs ago I moved to New York to marry my fiancé. about 3 months after moving I began to gain weight rapidly and I was very fatigued. I thought I was depressed from being homesick. Then everything about me changed. I kept gaining weight, I became very moody, my hair fell out, I had back pain so severe that some days I couldn’t walk or get out of bed. I had always kept my home neat and everything in order. I didn’t care anymore. I didn’t care about my home, my kids, Chris, or anything else for that matter. I didn’t care if I lived. Nothing at all mattered. Then I became very paranoid! I thought everyone was out to get me. I didn’t trust anyone. I always accused Chris of not loving me and having regret of me moving there. I thought my friends were pitting against me. I had always been a very patient person with a loving heart. That was gone. I became a cold person who would “snap” at the littlest things. At one time I became violent with Chris, something I will NEVER be able to forgive myself for! I made an appt with a Dr thinking I was going crazy. I told him I thought I needed to go to a mental hospital. He did my bloodowrk and told me I wasn’t going crazy. He told me I was Hypo and had Hashi’s. He put me on Synthroid and promised I would feel better. I didn’t. I felt worse. My levels were “normal” they kept telling me. That might be, but there was NOTHING “normal” about me! I began researching on my own and would take my info to my Dr. who wouldn’t listen. I was on the verge of giving up after being to 5 Dr’s and no one would listen or help me. I even think Chris was beginning to think I was going to extremes with my search. Then one night in Nov, Chris was watching TV while I was cleaning up dinner. He told me I had to come see this interview on TV. He backed the interview up for me to see. It was Gena Lee Nolin giving an interview to ET about her struggle with Thyroid Disease! She goes thru the same thing we all go thru! I just stood there watching and crying. Then I got mad because I’ve lost 5 yrs of my life due to Dr’s who refuse to listen. That interview lit my fire again! I decided I wasn’t going to stop looking until I’m better! Chris found her FB page (Thyroid Sexy) and sent me there. I sent her a private message asking her if she knew of a Dr on the east coast. She was kind enough to reply back telling me to see Dr Borenstein, if possible. So I did! Dec 2 I drove 4 ½ hours, then an hour on a train and a 30 min walk to his office. Best thing I could have ever done! He listened to me and switched my meds to Nature-Throid. I now have my life back. I’ve lost 15 lbs so far, the bloating is gone, I have energy, hair growth, pain free, no brain fog, clear memory, focused, no paranoia, among other things. My son told me one day “I love hearing you laugh again mommy”. Now that I’m better I feel as if I had lost 5 yrs of my life. I know I can’t get those years back, but I intend to make these next years amazing! I no longer take life for granted. I remember crying to my husband one night to please not give up on me, that I hate being the person I became. He told me he would never give up on me. I thank God he didn’t! He fought for me when I no longer could!"

I also have heard Armour or Nature-throid can make a life-changing difference. I have Hashi's but my doctor won't let me try any of these. She tells me my body will treat it like a foreign body and attack it. Hmmm.. May be time to find a new doctor. I also recommend going gluten-free for anyone with thyroid issues. Research it and see what you find out.

Have a great day!

my characteristics are thyroid type symptoms. This came from thyroid sexy on facebook in the notes section under the same note.

"Emotional Disorders
Any and every emotional disorder can be brought on or simulated by thyroid dysfunction. Hypothyroidism slows the thought process, produces depression and sometimes hallucinations, delusions and even paranoia. Slowness of thought and activity is a hallmark of this disease. When present and untreated from early childhood, the final outcome of severe hypothyroidism is idiocy, growth failure and early death in the late teens or early twenties. In adulthood, a change in personality or depression, fatigue, uncharacteristic irritability or a change in sleep pattern should raise a suspicion of thyroid dysfunction.

More:
Inappropriate weight gain and/or an inability to lose weight, weight loss, brittle nails, insomnia and/or hypersomnia, poor memory and concentration, fatigue, headaches and migraines, premenstrual syndrome and related problems, menstrual irregularities, depression, hair loss (can include outer third of eyebrows), low motivation and ambition, cold hands and feet, fluid retention, dizziness or lightheadedness, irritability, anger, easy bruising, skin problems/infections/acne, infertility, dry eyes/blurred vision, heat and/or cold intolerance, low blood pressure, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, digestive problems (irritable bowel syndrome, acid indigestion, constipation, etc.), poor coordination, diminished sex drive, reduced or excessive sweating, frequent colds/sore throats, asthma/allergies, slow healing, itchiness, food cravings, recurrent infections, food intolerances, increased susceptibility to substance abuse, anxiety/panic attacks, yellow-orange coloration on skin (particularly palms), yellow bumps on eyelids, slow speech, ringing and fluid in the ears."

so im really hoping someone on here may have experience any of the problems i mentioned n hopefully get some more ideas on things to try/do..i just really need help

Hi Steven! I am so sorry you have had to deal with so many issues. I found your symptoms and treatment reactions interesting and somewhat similar.
Here are somethings I have found about myself in relation to some of you issues:
1-I have tested 2/2 for MTHFR which is a gene mutation that drastically effects moods, hormones and other physical symptoms. You can read up about the symptoms or problems related to the disorder through MTHFR Forums; and how to be tested for it. Knowing I have this now helps me to understand why different treatment methods did not work and how to better support my system. I still have much to learn and a long road ahead of me-but I can now stop trying methods that just don't and won't work due to this disorder.

2-Due to the MTHFR disorder antidepressants have failed to help very much for my depression and in fact have worsened it at times. All this is because there are not enough neurons for the medicine to work well and do what it is intended to. Reading up on the MTHFR will help you understand why this is- if that were your problem which only a blood test can reveal. One should never assume they have it and try treating it without a knowledgable doctor.

3-I struggle with up and down weak adrenals which effect my thyroid function, which is already effected by the MTHFR. You can read up on how to strengthen your adrenals on line also. Weak adrenals can also create mood swings.

4-Though my thyroids often seem to be an issue, the main issue for me often comes from the weakening of my adrenals which creates sluggish thyroids. One thing I have learned about myself after several different treatments for my 'hypothyroid diagnosis' and horrible effects of the different medicines-major irritable feelings that I had to keep under control, and insomnia were a a couple- was my blood work needed to be done through what is called a dialasis. It has something to do with the protien binding in my blood-possibly due to the MTHFR-that doe not reveal the true levels of my FREE T4 and T3. Thus even when my TSH looked high my T4 was normal. So as a result adding T4 to an already adaquate supply in my blood stream triggered immediate over medication and the horrible symptoms of it.

5-Be careful of all of the supplements you are putting into you system. All of this needs to be filtered through the liver and that in itself can create issues. Sometime less is better as I have learned.

6-Counseling is of great worth for those of us who have suppressed pain and haven't dealt with it properly. The ability to control ones emotions and actions through it is phenomenal. Something even medicine can not help but only cover up without the counseling. This helped me a great deal-especially when the medicine seemed useless. : )

Best of luck and 'hope' : )

PS Steve- I also had some long over due food sensitivity tests done. This also helped to explain some of mood, gutt and inflammatory issues.
