Tyroid level changes

I was tested by my shrink randomly for my tyriod levels. It came back low THS and High T4. At that time we passed me along to an endocrinologist, we did the blood work along with more detailed tyroid test, and antibody testing to check and see if it would be thyroidist? or graves disease. My levels came back very high again across the board except the THS stayed the samelow. My antibodies confirmed postive in regards to graves disease.

We just checked my levels again on Tuesday, some have improved but still on the high spectrum. I dont know if changes towards the regular tyroid function is normal with graves? It was a roughmonth, also a month since the first detailed testing. I've been sick, the shakes, elevated heart rate, feeling hot to the point im sweating more often then not. Ive also had my period for a month, my OB thinks its coming from issues with my tyroid, could that effect my levels?

Your symptoms are consistent with Graves disease (hyperthyroidism.) The low TSH and high T4 are what is usually seen with Graves. It sounds as if your endocrinologist did the full thyroid panel, which is appropriate for diagnosis.

How are you being treated? Any medication, or just observation? There are drugs that can be given to slow down that thyroid; another treatment option is iodine treatment to destroy all or part of the thyroid gland, then supplementation with oral medication for the rest of your life.

Sometimes people's thyroid function will fluctuate. As long as it is trending toward the normal, your doctor will likely just watch. But if it isn't, or if your symptoms become too distressing, treatment would be indicated. The symptoms you describe are not causing thyroid problems, but are symptoms of hyperthyroidism.
