I had to stop taking it about three days ago. I'm waiting for my endocrinologist to put me on Armor instead. Did anyone stop taking there medication and get diarrhea a couple days later? Sorry, tmi I know but I need to know. Thanks.

I've not heard of this reaction before, perhaps one of our other members has.

It is typically advised you go off it gradually and how long you have been on it plus the strength is a factor. It could be a physical reaction to suddenly stopping it. Happy to hear you will be on Armour.

Oh, and have you been supplementing with selenium? Very important.

I had no idea I had to supplement with selenium. I was taking only 0.025 MCG but the side effects were so horrible after a month and a week I weened myself off them. Started with a whole tablet then half for a week then half of that half than I stopped lol I also found out I have celiac disease so I started my GF diet two days ago, that could be part of it as well.

I had exactly the same experience before Inwent off it. Same dosage, as well. Have you started the Armour? Believe me, it will work so much better.

I am just starting on the Armour Thyroid today but have a question for those who have been on medication for awhile. I have been having a lot of hair loss in the last few weeks and I am wondering if the hair will grow back when my thyroid levels increase.

My last test was about 9. I know that's high. Thanks.

I have an appointment tomorrow with my endocrinologist at 3:15 and will be request it then. I'm not sure if he'll even do it, I've heard a lot of endocrinologists don't like to prescribe it but I will be more than adament about it and will let you know how it goes (:

Be sure you ask for the brand an not a generic Armour. Sure makes a difference in my personal experience.

Update: my endocrinologist didn't even bat an eye when I asked for the Armour, he said ''of course''. I was so relieved! He gave me .15mcg and it is indeed Armour and not the generic, I made sure of it (:

I'll be taking it tomorrow and am putting all my hopes into this because I have nothing else to hope in anymore.

How are you doing? Or do you feel it's too soon to know.
