Hello everyone.  I'm new to the site.

After seeing a couple of different doctors a month and a half ago for severe fatigue I went to an endocrinologist who said my thyroid was a high normal (results below) and put me on 50 mcg of levothyroxine a day (along with an iron supplement and vitamin D).  I haven't noticed a change in my symptoms at all and it's been over a month.  I know sometimes these things take time, but I didn't think I would have to wait this long.  Is it possible that the medication isn't working, even for a result that isn't that high?  Is it even possible to have thyroid issues with results like these?  Thanks for your help!

Name Value Reference Range
TSH 3.140 0.450-4.500 uIU/mL
Thyroxine (T4) 8.3 4.5-12.0 ug/dL
T3 Uptake 25 24-39 %
Free Thyroxine Index 2.1 1.2-4.9
Triiodothyronine (T3) 109 71-180 ng/dL

Hi,
It takes at least six weeks from the change in the dose, so you need to retest your thyroid in six weeks to see where you are .

The reference range recommended by the AACE is 0.3-3.0, however, yours is quite balanced.

Also 50 mcg/day is a huge starting dose taking into account your TSH.

I agree with hypoHashimoto about the dose. Maybe your symptoms are not thyroid?
