I've been on one thyroid medication or another for years (like decades?) and have felt the same or a little better as far as symptoms go. A few months ago, my doc and I changed to a Cytomel/dessicated thyroid combo, which made me feel tons better than dessicated thyroid alone.
At the same time this switch was going on, I developed a g.e.r.d. problem (unrelated) and began eating almost nothing. Once or twice a day I would have a couple of teaspoons of rice or macaroni. That was about all I could do. My nutrition level plummeted.
A month or two later, I started seeing my hair falling out like rain. Another month or two after that, and I have about 2/3 to 1/2 of my hair thickness that I had before. I (and my doc) don't know if it is a nutrition-related loss or some unpublished side-effect of the Cytomel.
Anyone have a similar story with Cytomel?
