Hashimoto's and Prostate Cancer/Removal

Hello,

I am new to this forum and am wondering if there are any men out there who have Hashimoto's Thyroidis and also had prostate cancer then removal?

I am having major issues now with blood pressure all over the map and have been to the ER twice in less than a month after waking up from a dead sleep with BP at almost 200/100 and pulse in the 115 range.

My normal BP is high normal.

I have been doing some reading, but haven't yet determined if the removal of the prostate gland affects thyroid function even further in those with Hashimoto's.

Derek, I'm sorry you're getting such a double-whammy. We haven't had anyone with this combination posting here, and I really don't have any information about it. Sounds like a good question for your endocrinologist!

My thyroid never affected my blood pressure, but I had Graves rather than Hashi's. Please do let us know what you find out, the question is intriguing.

Hello,

No worries just trying to find out what I can as both my internist and endo are of little use and I am trying to find new doctors while dealing with this newest bit of fun.

A few too many autoimmune issues in my 54 years and just all seems a bit to coincidental for my tastes.
