Hello everyone,
I was diagnosed back in 2013 with Hasimotos. My doctor at the time had to google my disease because he didn't know a lot about
it. Great start right? Anyways, since then I've moved from a large city to a tiny town where doctors are often rotated. So I see a new doctor every time. They refuse to fly me to see an Endocrinologist because they feel they can manage my symptoms with a GP. Well... my TSH has never been normal. They started me on 50mcg of Synthroid and that sent me into hyperthyroidism with a tsh level at .02. Was losing hair, weight etc. So they changed it to 13mcg. My level was then at 13. Then changed to 18.75mcg and my level was 11. Next try was 25mcg and my level was at 9. So they tried 37.5 and that sent me back to hyper at .02. Finally they put me on 31.5mcg and that brought me to 8.95. Sigh.....I'm beginning to feel that I will never find the right dose. They won't test me for Celiac or any other autoimmune diseases. Said that if I wasn't doubling over in pain when I ate a muffin i'm good. I feel like crap, exhausted through the day, terrible brain fog around 2pm, weight stays the same, I feel like I have anxiety attacks often, acid reflux, super dry skin, crave carbs, eyes feel like they have bags under them, etc. It's so frustrating....I just want to feel better. I feel like they don't know what they are doing. :( I may just try going gluten free but not sure if I should see a nutritionist for this. If anyone can offer any help or advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
