Can anyone recommend a good thyroid specialist in northern NJ, or anywhere in NJ for that matter. Not just a standard endo. But one that will test for everything.

I am Lyme disease diagnosed. As you may or may not know - LD is a systemic disease, that can cause multiple bio-molecular malfunctions as result of a bacterial infection. Which in-turn, cause problems such as adrenal failure ( i have), which can lead to thyroid irregularities, and so on.
Ive been suffering from extreme chronic illness for the past 2 & 1/2 years, and can not get any endo's to do any testing past the gold standard TSH & T3 (just total, not free). I never understood the dismissive attitude towards thorough testing. How can a Doc know that there are no antibodies present, without even testing for it? Its inexpensive and if symptoms are in parallel with a condition... why not.

Although lyme infections are present - my symptoms overlap heavily in the low thyroid arena.

Just looking for a non dismissive Doc thats not afraid to test for everything,>> pituitary & thyroid hormones - total & free - antibodies, as well as negative feedback loop indicators (RT3).

Thank you.
