I'm going to be changing to Levo soon because of the cost of Synthroid and a change in my prescription plan. I took Levoxyl at one time. The Sythroid has worked well and I just was wondering if I should expect a change in the way the Levo might work. I hate to do this since things are better, but the cost of Synthroid is way too high.

I took Synthroid for 10 years. I then switched to Levothyroxine because insurance wouldn't cover my Synthroid. I was on Levothyroxine for 8 years and it was the worse years of my life. The bad thing is I went to all kinds of doctors and specialists no one could figure out what was wrong. I finally researched the medications. I asked my doctor to put me back on Synthroid and I have felt good ever since I changed. Not only that, when I compared the two, I opened the Levothyroxine bottle and you could SMELL the strong chemical aroma. I opened my new bottle of Synthroid, NO SMELL at all! Good luck, hope you feel better! rolleyes
