Hello everyone my tsh was in the low side of normal . My Dr still thinks something is up. My mother has a hyperactive thyroid. Is it even possible for tsh to be normal and still have a thyroid problem ?? She is running additional testing .

Hi,
Please post the actual results !

Just being in normal range is frequently not enough .

You should ask for it.
If your TSH is low in it's range, then you might be hyperthyroid .

If your doctor still suspects thyroid issues, I would assume she has ordered a complete thyroid panel. That would include TSH, free T4 and T3 as well as antibody testing. If you get this panel done, please post the results here, including the lab's reference numbers. That will help us get some ideas as to what could be going on.

So it is possible to still have a problem ?? I know of I have some of the same symptoms as my mom. The darkened facial hair and losing a ton of hair in the shower . And red eyes . But I thought if my tsh was in normal range all was ok

Hi irishpride,
I just noticed your previous post regarding adrenals, if you have an adrenal issue then before you start to address your thyroid you MUST first to get you adrenals issue treated properly, otherwise , treating the thyroid would be impossible .

Best,

Have you gotten any answers yet? Just asking because I've been suffering w/ most likely Grave's Disease (overactive thyroid autoammuine dis) for over 4 years with little help from the docs.

Most docs don't know much about thyroid issues. They need to check your other hormones also. TSH doesn't tell you everything.

Curious and hoping you go some help and are well now.
