I was well controlled on Armour (210 mg) for several years. I was always freezing, and my RT3 was 21, so started T3 only in 12/13 settling in on 75mcg bid dose. I did ok for awhile, last fall started to feel hyper, had a stressful life event. Lost 20 # and muscle and lost all of my strength. Neck, arm, calf weakness. Labs at that time (12/14) TSH . 02, FT3 6.6, FT4 .07, RT3<5. Decreased dose to 52.5 mcg bid and now I still have neck weakness, high CK, aldolase, elevated liver enzymes and anemia. Feet swelling, hair falling out now which I have never had in my 30 years with Hashimotos.
My current labs are TSH 3.341, FT3 2.62, FT4 .15, RT3<2.5. Has anyone ever been overdosed on T3? Also, I read in a forum, but could find no info, that prolonged low FT4 can cause muscle fiber damage. Has anyone heard of this? I felt hyper last fall, but feel hypo now.
Thank you
