I'm newly diagnosed with hypothyrioidism, and started taking levothyroxine about 2 weeks ago.

Does anyone have experiences with bone issues?
I had a spinal fracture almost a year ago, which is not healing well: lots of pain, unable to work.

For the first time since the accident, these last 4 days have been the 'best' since. Could the levothyroxine show such fast results, or would it rather be coincidental? Maybe I'm being too optimistic LOL

In general it takes six weeks to feel the effect of new dose of Levo , also are you taking brand name Levo or generic? If you can then switch to brand name since that make the weekly dose of Levo consistent .

I used to feel bone aches when severely hypo, and hyper can affect the bone density .

I hope others here have answer to your specific questions .

Best wishes ,

Hi, I have been recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism too. My experience so far is when I first started taking the levothyroxine (the generic version ), I started feeling results the next day.

I have also been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. So I had noticed more energy, less pain, and just an overall positive mood. It was great . However I started having an adverse effect after a month.

Now I have started armour thyriod hormone. So far no adverse effects but I haven't noticed a big change like I did with the levothyroxine .

I hope this treatment keeps working for you , it sounds like you are on the right track .

I am also a thyroid patient of hypothyroidism. Since last two years I got this diseases my doctors suggest me to take 100 mg of tablets. Now my thyroid is under control. If you also want to control your thyroid you need to do exercise daily otherwise it wouldn't work. Its very important too loose your weight as well as taking tablets daily. If you want good results please go for morning walk. You will loose your plus size clothing and it will definitely control your thyroid.

HypoHashimoto,
I'm taking L-Thyroxine. I don't have a lot of choice, since I got diagnosed by my GP...

Purple Lynx,
I'm taking L-Thyroxine for about 3 weeks now. I was doing ok, but I'm starting to feel more and more sore all over (bone and muscle pains). But I also have Lyme Disease, it's quite confusing...

Claudiatrinidad,
Thank you for the advise. I'm having trouble working out because of some other affections: i have Lyme Disease with several coinfections, which causes a lot of pain and fatigue, and I'm badly recovering from a spinal fracture. I go out for very short walks most of the days, but working out is not pissible for now...
