What were your other lab results? FT3, FT4, TPO and TgAB? It's really hard to see the bigger picture with TSH only. There could be a breakdown somewhere else in the process... i.e., you might have a difficult time converting T4 into T3 and then your thyroid tells your pituitary gland that it needs more thyroid hormone, which can result in a higher TSH. That's a very common issue.
