Hi, I'm new here and but have been dealing with thyroid disease for 8 years. Had a total thyroidectomy in 2008. Felt good on 112mcg for years until December 2015, when I ended up in ICU with a coronary artery spasm, all the heart checked out ok except for high cholesterol, so they said the spasm was probably because I was hypothyroid at TSH of 6.7, and it has been all down hill for the last 7 months. I have bounced from low to high back down to low and now for the past 2 months, have remained low and still trying to get the right dose. My general Pract. sent me to and endo for the first time back in May because he is having trouble getting me dosed. So endo has put me on Synthroid vs. the generic I had taken for years. As of May 23, my TSH was 10 and I was put on 112 mcg. As of today, 5 weeks later, my TSH is 7.72 so he is bumping me up to 137 mcg, which scares me cause I think that is a huge jump. Anyway, the last few weeks I thought I was getting HYPER again cause my heart rate has jumped back up in to the low 100's, especially when I first get up in the morning and I have a lot of joint pain and muscle twitches. My question for anyone that can help is, does anyone else have increased heart rate and muscle twitches when they are HYPO? I thought those symptoms were just for HYPERthyroidism. I'm a nurse and even I can't make heads or tales of it!!! I'm getting so frustrated with feeling bad. I would love to hear from anyone that has the atypical signs of hypothyroidism or just some good advice in general. Thanks!
