I usually use the Lyme board but figure y'all might shed some light on things for me. I have Lyme, babesia, and Bartonella but my most troubling symptoms could be endocrine in nature.
I've had gobs of tests before we found Lyme and it's coinfections. I've been very healthy and active for 60 years until this.
My most troubling symptoms that may have endo overlap are:
Agitation / with and without anxiety
Unexplained weight loss : 22 lbs: 166-->144
Insomnia: wake @3am, trouble getting back to sleep
This agitation especially feels like endocrine malfunction to me. I'll call it agitation for lack of a better descript
or. The agitation feels like a mega caffeine overdose. That's the best way I can describe it.
Sometimes it's accompanied by anxiety but not usually. It's very uncomfortable either way. I never felt anything close to this agitated sensation when I used to participate in thrill seeking activities motorcycle racing, skydiving, whitewater rafting, or stressful life events.
Can anyone identify this symptom? Adaptogenic herbs for adrenals and Lyme antimicrobial herbs exacerbate it big time. These adaptogens are supposed to "normalize" my adrenal function.
Would autoimmune tests like Ana, anca, rheumatoid factor, pick up hashimoto's?
I've been negative on those.
Some of my symptoms seem to be associated with hypo thyroid yet others more hyper.
I just saw a new Lyme doc who looked at previous labs and was surprised nobody said anything about
24 HR, cortisol spit test: pharmasan labs

Free testosterone = 33, ref range = 35-155
Shbg= 51, ref range =22-77
TSH= 2.75 ref range =0.4 - 4.5
2 years ago it was 3.28, I was not sick then.
FT4= 1.0 ref range=. 78 - 2.19
Hemoglobin a1c= 5.3 , ref range= 0 - 5.9
Non fasting glucose varies: as low as 88, as high as 112. Fasting range=65-99
New doc astutely ordered ft3, ft4, reverse ft3, thyroid antibodies, b12, b6, d, testosterone, hb1c, folate, thiamine, and more.
I suspect things are out of whack due to autonomic dysfunction caused by Lyme. I await lab results in another week but hope someone here can shed some light on this.
