Ive been having symptoms for several years but they have gotten worse lately. I think the worst is how badly my hair is falling out (have to clean my hair brush every day) and its turning gray; Im only 28. Also, despite lots of exercise and a healthy diet, I am *gaining* weight; Im experiencing some nasty fatigue, dry skin/peeling on elbows, my hair (in addition to falling out) has become lackluster and dry-looking, I cant stand cold temps, and Im dealing with almost constant constipation despite stool softeners. In addition, I have spondyloarthritis (autoimmune arthritis) and I know having one autoimmune disease can lead to developing others. I've had my thyroid tested, but numbers come back normal. I've long suspected a thyroid issue, but docs always say no. The doc I have now is great, and I want to breach the subject to her but not sure how. I've read of people (and know at least one) who have been put on thyroid medications even though they have "normal" levels; has anyone dealt with this? How should I bring it up, and go about it?
