I am 24 year old girl. I believe I have hyperthyroidism i tend to forget which one i have. I've been taking synthroid 50mcg every morning for almost a year I think and then been checking with blood results with endocrinogolist every three months. this last appointment two months ago, he told me to skip synthroid on Saturday and Sundays and see if theres a change.. I think the level was maybe too high in my blood work. Now its already almost been three months since that change. This month I didn't get period yet. On day 55 now. ( I have pcos so its always been irregular but the past year its been pretty regular) Last night I was very restless, my legs especially. and I have hot flashes, I think. I'm getting very hot randomly and its very uncomfortable. I'm due to go back to endocrinologist in two weeks so ill find out the results then but I just don't know what is going on with my body. I also have anxiety which adds of course. but is there is a connection with these symptoms you think to the synthroid and thyroid or its unrelated? I just want to know whats happening in my body.

I am sorry that you are unwell. I am not a doctor, but I have Hashimoto’s. It sounds like you are hypothyroid, but you may be getting too much. If you have autoimmune thyroid like me, your thyroid can go from hypo to hyper and back making it difficult to get your meds right. I know it used to drive my doctor crazy.

Being hyper can make you feel hot all the time. It can contribute to anxiety. My hands would literally be quivering. I would need less sleep. It kind of speeds things up. When I am hypo, I feel tired, lose hair and need an afternoon nap.

Your pros may be acting up and contributing to your symptoms. Call your doctor or email. Have you followed his advice about skipping two days of medication?

If it is already three months then it is the time to perform blood work ( TSH , FREE T3/4) .

Good luck,
