i was told 2 years ago i was suffering from hypothyroidism, i suspected it was from my Lyme disease. i refused to see the endocrinologist bc i knew they'd just try to put me on hormones so i started taking my health into my own hands trying anything i could from all bone broth diets to Paleo to all green juice I've tried it all the only thing I've found truly works and i have test result to prove it is a plant based whole foods diet no proceed garbage no oil no table salt or sea salt i use pink if i use salt at all.it sounds awful and impossible but its become a way of life for me and its fun to create "healthy junk food" as i call it my kids and i had homemade nachos all plant based 100% good for u even had nacho cheese on it its the year 2018 being plant based doesn't mean gross bean sprout weird concoctions it can be delicious and not kill you at the same time. If this sounded preachy in any way i'm sorry it just sucks seeing ppl struggle like i used to when there is help and hope. its more about reprogramming yourself bc we are programmed to think we need this stuff "animal products"that shouldn't even be consumed as food. my kids still eat cereal, pizza, Mexican food Chinese food, Italian it easy and actually way faster bc you don't have to dethaw meat or stress about cooking it thoroughly. sorry i rambled anyways i went from hypothyroidism to having a normal working thyroid no problems at all.

How are you feeling now? Are you 90-100%? I know cases of remission without any dietary restrictions or medications at all.

I normalized my antibodies going on palio diet and have before and after labs to prove this. Still on thyroid med though.

Can you please post the lab results proof with Hashimoto and after to visualy show improvement?

That is the only proof because there are many other health factors that share the same symptoms of hypothyroid.. Lyme itself has the same symptoms and you cured that.

The definition of hypothyroid is with lab hormone levels.

I appreciate your post. This is something I would really like to do for a variety of reasons. Kid approved...good work!
So, do you have recommendations for getting started? I'm easily overwhelmed and I think I'm like a lot of people. I give up and throw in the towel. Once in a while, I like to eat Nachos too!

I was mostly gluten free for two years, then went 100% gluten free since sept. Had a endo appt just after my comment up above and my thyroid med need stabilized after 20 years of needing to increase dose.

My thyroid nodule of ten years also 100% disappeared.

I am also 100% corn free and try to be 100% corn chemical (sugars maltodextrins ect) free.

Isn't .8 in range for TSH? Could you post the range please?

A TSH at 8 is out of range. You should insure the rest of your thyroid panel is done. Consider asking for thyroid antibodies testing to find the root cause of your hypothyroidism. Your doctor will probably prescribe thyroid hormone replacement. Does soy or cruciferous veggies impact your thyroid function or medication absorption? It did not for me, but everyone is different.
