I recently switched to Armour Thyroid 15mg (I cut a 30mg pill in half) from Synthroid 25mcg and wow what a change. My mental mood has been amazing. I feel better than ever. The foggyness, depression, random anxiety from years ago for the most part is gone. I love NDT compared to Synthroid. I’m trying to understand the values ranges and doctors keep saying I’m in the normal range. Doesn’t feel optimal though. This is my last test done a week ago:
Triiodothyronine, Free LC (T3): 3.2
T4 Free: 1.2
I mainly deal with cold sweating, overheating (I do not get fevers, just feels very hot), & nausea. I know that adrenals + cortisol can affect us and I’ve been having bad cortisol issues past year due to drug withdrawals.
I’ve been taking 1/2 pill right when I wake up & then the other half around afternoon. I also do eat as blood sugar gets low in the morning. I’ve been using a website called Stop the Thyroid Madness which some here have suggested too. I feel confident that my hypothyroidism is getting more and more under control, but I wouldn’t mind some suggestions from some other thyroid people who have been in my similar shoes so I can tighten things up.
I’m wondering if maybe I should switch to another NDT such as Nature Thyroid or if I need to recover more from withdrawals. It could also be a simple dosage adjustment. For now, any suggestions or opinions on my results? I do think my T3 is quite high compared to the T4.
Thank you for checking out my post!
