Hi all,
I just wanted to send everyone an update on my situation.  I had posted a few things recently about my struggle with my flare and meds, anxiety, sleeping, nursing school, etc.  I wanted to tell everyone that I don't know how I did it but I ended up passing my semester!  I was really close to having to repeat it and really pulled through.  I'm still dealing with everything else and trying to get a grip during my Christmas break though.  I only have one semester to go!  Thanks for everyone who helped me by offering even the smallest encouragement.  It truly helped.  Hope everyone has a great holiday!
29 years old; diagnosed since 1997 (but I've had it forever)
Current meds:
-Prednisone 10 mg!
-Re-trying Imuran; I'm at 75 mg now.
-Asacol 12/day
-Failed Remicade (8/06-8/07)
-Calcium + Vitamin D(for my steroid-affected bones)
-Buspar and Xanax for anxiety
-Prenatal vitamins (for the extra stuff, not for pregnancy)

That's great that you were able to pass your semester. It's such a rewarding feeling just knowing you can do it against adversity. Kudos to you!

Becky, is your school aware of your diagnosis? Sometimes they will make accommodations for you, like letting you make things up that you had to miss during a flare.

Anyway, great news that you passed! Your hard work and determination should be a model for all of your classmates.
Moderate to severe left-sided UC (21 cm) diagnosed 2001.
Intolerant to Asacol and rectal mesalamine preparations.
On Prednisone then Entocort 2001-2006 with only short periods off.
Current meds are Colazal, Azathioprine and Remicade.
In remission since April, 2006. Remicade has been my wonder drug.
