I've just started getting spots/acne on my forehead, behind my ears, etc. I'm 34 this year and haven't had spots since I was about 16!
Any ideas what's going on and how to get rid of it?!
I seem to recall reading somewhere that it can be a side effect of the steroids. Strange thing is I just tapered down to 15mg on Wednesday. I'd have thought I would have got it when I was on a higher dose, not the other way around.

That aside, it's bloody annoying!

I'm down to 15mg and have bad acne also. Face, neck and back. Never had acne or whatever it is this bad before. I'm positive it's from the steroids because I've never had this unitl Prednisone. Also, I don't know how to get rid of the acne other than waiting it out. I'm guessing once we taper off, it will eventually go away.
Asacol 4 pills 3x's daily
Imuran 125mg.
Prednisone 20mg.

been on approx 50 mg of pred a day since 9/7/07 about 4 months. two weeks ago just started getting a few zits on my face, neck, chest and back.  This week I have gotten 3 pimples on my face, one is pretty big and it hurts.

My acne history: had pimples (not zits, pimples are more under the skin and hurt) on and off (mostly on) from age 11 to 28, at age 28 I started getting huge acne cysts and went on accutane (best thing I ever did, I could finally see what I looked like and not have painful pimples) and have had only the tiniest zit or two since then until these past few weeks.  GRRRRR!!!!

Hate the pred!!!  Sorry Cammie, this really stinks!!!

I have been using neutrogena acne stuff in a tube on my zits and they have gone away in a few days.  It used to take me weeks to get rid of pimples.  If I am going to be on this for much longer, I will do the proactive, not sure if that will help pred acne but will try.

i believe i saw on several different posts on this site that mild acne is a side effect of tapering off pred. so it should go away once you're off of it for a bit.

Acne is a nasty side effect of the PrEDNISOLONRE AND quite a common one.You will notice as you taper down the dosage the spots will clear. You can aid this by eating healthy and drinking plenty of water.
