nausea/weak nervous

i have been this way for over 3 weeks off and on i will feel nausea,weak nervous, for hours at a time and then feel like my self ok,so i called my nutritionist about this illness and she told me to take my acidophilus capsule on an empty stomach,twice a day. how long will this pill take before i feel like myself again.

Welcome! Do you see a GI or are you just working w/ a nutritionist? Are you taking any other meds?

Yes i take toprol xl 50mg and ativan 3 times a day or as needed for my anxiety,i even took a stress test for the heart ok, all sugar cholesterol test where ok last week i do hav ulcer since 1978, i take prilocec, and careafate twice a day.

I'm surprised you were told to take the probiotic on an empty stomach. I guess you could try it, but I had read you need to eat something first so the stomach acid doesn't just kill the bacteria.
I used to use ginger for nausea. I would sip on a ginger ale in the afternoon, because that's when I felt nauseated. It seemed to help.
Asacol 4 tabs 2x daily
Forvia once a day
Probiotic twice daily
Methotrexate 3 pills once a week
Actonel once a week
Calcium supp.
1 mg Folic Acid daily
Omega-3 once daily
Eleventh Remicade infusion End of January

i am sorry i should of said 15 minutes before a eat i should take the acidolphilus. do you know how long before this kicks in so i can feel normal again?

I felt that way a couple of months ago and I turned out to be anemic. My GI ordered a blood test to test for thyroid, vitamin deficiencies, etc. ... they took three vials of blood to get all the tests done. My potassium was a little low as well. You may want to consider a blood test to rule anything out.

Diagnosed UC April 27, 2006
Remicade infusions: 7/21/07; 8/18/07; 10/13/07; 12/15/97;
Lialda, 4 tabs in the morning; Protonix; Prednisone 4/27/06-present, was almost off, back to 40 mg; 12/1/07 - 12/29/07 weekly Venofer (iron sucrose) injections; 9 mg Entocourt EC; Xanax as needed; Lexipro 10 mg, Rowesa; Asacol; Colazal three 750 mg capsules 3X day; Bad reactions: Imuran( 2/07)

What can you do about anemia? Just take iron supplements? I have been told i have low iron.
21 years of UC which started after quitting smoking. In and out of flares which are usually triggered by antibiotics.
  • Salofalk enemas each 2nd day
  • 8 500mg Pentasa a day
  • Probiotic
  • Psyllium powder.
