Anyone notice Colazal is cheaper?

My co-pay went down and I noticed the amount insurance paid went down as well.

maybe its because they are coming out with the generic?

My co-pay was $10 (usually $25) and I believe insurance pd around $130-160 (can't remember). That is significantly less b/c when my hubby lost his job in '05 we were paying $300+ out of pocket.

Thanks for info.! In my area the 280-capsule supply costs over $400 at large drug chain. Luckily, my insurance has helped with it. Having generics on the market will really be a blessing for us! (Hopefully, I should say, because the Rowasa generic has caused some members problems.) / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC; currently on 3 Colazal daily for maintenance of remission)

That's great. My Asacol co-pay is $25. I wonder why they don't have a generic for Asacol yet, since it's been around longer than Colazol.

Diagnosed with UC March 2007; yet to go into remission
Current inflamation in the rectum
Asacol 4 tablets 3x/day
Rowasa (generic) - daily
Nature's Way Primadophilus Reuteri 1/day; Chewable multivitamin; Metamucil; Viactiv (Calcium and Vit. D)

My Colazal costs $400 and my copay is $25. Sounds like the generic is available now, so it should go down to $10 for me. Super!

Moderate to severe left-sided UC (21 cm) diagnosed 2001.
Intolerant to Asacol and rectal mesalamine preparations.
On Prednisone then Entocort 2001-2006 with only short periods off. 
Current meds are Colazal, Azathioprine Remicade, Nature's Way Primadophilus Reuteri.
In remission since April, 2006. Remicade has been my wonder drug.
