Stem cells for growing organs

I'm sure most have heard about the stem cells growing rat hearts that beat:
 
 
I sure wouldnt mind it if they grew some colons! yeah
 
I wonder though if our bodies would do the same thing to new colons - i.e. ulcerate and destroy them...  sad


33 yr old male. UC for 13 years. 40mg pred, 12mg Asacol, Fish oil pills, Garden of Life probiotics. Recent Endonasal brain surgery to remove non-cancerous hormone producing tumor on pituitary gland.

I'd like them to grow me a new immune system! That would be the best.

Moderate to severe left-sided UC (21 cm) diagnosed 2001.
Asacol, Rowasa, Pentasa, Prednisone, Entocort, Azathioprine
Colazal,  Remicade, Nature's Way Primadophilus Reuteri.
In remission since April, 2006. Remicade has been my wonder drug.
