I have been taking it for about 3 weeks, day and night.  I am having more bleeding than normal.  Do you think it could be the Proctofoam?  My bms are kind of more normal, no more D, but lots of blood.

Yes, because it can thin the mucosal lining of the colon and make it more fragile.

You could maybe skip the morning dosage for a few days to see if it improves....continue the nightly ones, however.

You're not on any oral meds...are you having increased bms and urgency as well or just the bleeding? With bms or alone?

I have been having dripping of blood with or without bms. My bms are actually better lately, but there is a lot of blood. That terrifies me if Proctofoam can thin the lining. My ulcer is already at risk of preforation. (sigh)

Yes-- that's one of the tricky things about steroids. They're great for zapping inflammation, but they can cause thin tissue to tear-- resulting in bleeding. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

Try to fine-tune the med juggling. Experiment.

It's good the bms are doing better.
