Since I got diagnosed, I haven't been taking a multi because I was in the middle of a severe flare. I used to take Universal Animal Pak before the flare and was fine other then constipation. Since the flare I switched to NOW Adam. For some reason that product makes me crampy. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? Is it just because of my condition or do you think there is something within the product causing this? Any opinions / ideas? Thanks in advance.

I have a hard time w/ multi-vitamins that have iron. The iron gives me horrible stomach aches. Once I switched to one w/out I was fine.

Men's vitamins normally don't have iron. Adam doesn't from what I read.

However, it does contain a soy derivitive (gas formation in my mind), maltodextrin (gas producing), and some digestive enzymes that can cause gas.

I would suggest you take them with your evening meal to lessen the incidence of gas...it's normally less when the gut is less active.

There may be a few other things you'd be sensite to...but taking them at another time of the day might be helpful.

It could also be the formulation? Are they in capsule or hard pill form?

could be that they take too long for you to digest....there is an ingredient in there as well that helps it remain longer in the digestive tract.

So, if they bother you too much, don't take them. But, I think you might be able to change when you take them to see if you have some improvement.
