Hi my name is Warren

I,m 72 tears old and I have had digestive problems for over 40 years, stomach ulcers and ulcerative colitis.  No operations (thank the Lord) and my diet through the years has become more and more restrictive.  I eat chichen, turkey, pork roast (no curing), fish (once in a while), veggies (beans, squash, broccilli, peas, all cooked mushy), drink alot of water, eggs, bread (white - store bought), thats about it.  I have to stay on diet, the pain is not worth going off it.

Prayer is almost automatic every time I use the bathroom and I can truely say I would not want to try to live day by day without the Lord.

All of that is to say that if I can help anyone please let me know an I'll do the best I can.

Omeprazole 20 Mg twice a day
Colazal 750 mg twice a day
Lorazepam 1 Mg twice a day I'm addicted but thats ok to help get through each day

Hi Warren...haven't seen you for a while. You could add some probiotics, digestive enzymes and rectal meds to your regimen.

Where in the colon is your UC (limited or throughout)...?

What are your symptoms at this time?

Hi Quincy

Through the years my whole colon has been effected and right now I'm having an average day (if I don't think about myself I don't felt any pain).  I try to live just for today and let the past and furture go.

Also, I forgot to mention that I eat chickhen liver every day (so I won't become enemic) and noodles.

Thanks for your caring, I hope you are having a good day.

God bless,

Warren

Hi..chicken livers are delicious....but I wouldn't like them daily.

My day is going very well, thank you!

Do consider the rectal meds...have you ever tried them?

Warren, thank you so much for posting. You're an inspiration!

Have you ever tried a good probiotic? They replace the good bacteria in your colon that the UC flushes away and help me with more normal-textured stools.

I became much healthier after I stopped eating dairy and gluten. Now I can't imagine eating any other way.

Hi Quincy, Judy, Heather, Maggie and all of you

Thank you so much for your caring inputs. I will certainly start praying and thinking about your inputs. I have to confess to a reluctance to change when I'm feeling as good as I do today. It's so good to know that I'm not the only one with such a crazy diet. Keep on living and sharing your lives. There is hope and as time goes by we do come to a place of acceptance, freedom from fears, and peace. So to all of you, hang in there, it does get better, Thank the Lord.

Well, you have choices...use the knowledge for your gain. Better than ignoring things that could help...basic things which it seems many would rather deny until much later (then think it's a good idea...sigh).

It's a topic that's like the plague with a huge psychological stigma attached (which I've noticed).

Either try them or not...
