hello,
I havent written in a while since Ive been feeling quite well. To much of my surprise, I made it through my usual fall/holiday flare with nothing. YEA! I thought I might be in the clear, but these last few days I have just felt "off".

Have been having very slight flare symptoms, but does anyone just feel sort of weird all over too? Does your head get a little dizzy or "clouded"? I've had this disease for 14 years and you'd think that I would recognize the syptoms of a flare by now, but sometimes my body surprises me...

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi

You could ask your Dr for a blood test and see if it shows inflammation. I bugged my Dr for blood tests a lot in the early days because I wanted to be able to recognise a flare nice and early so as to treat it with rectal 5ASA and not pred! He really didn't mind writing the blood test forms and then letting me know the results. Through doing that I have learned that (for me) wet gas and the feeling of never having an empty bowel is the first sign of a flare. Anything else is just an upset tummy or unexplained thing that isn't a flare and I don't need to worry about it.

Dizzyness could really be anything - it's hard to say.

Hope you feel better soon :-)

Knitty_Cat  - Sorry, but could you describe "wet gas" - does that involve blood or what? Thanks.
