I can't comment on Fish oil but I'm a firm believer in fiber supplements. I have taken them for years and no plans to stop!

Well I definitely feel they've helped me, along with some other natural anti-inflammatories and probiotics.

My GI was the one who told me to take fibre supplements daily (best advice I'v ever gotten from a GI) I've been taking them daily (as he said to take them for the rest of my life) and it's been almost 5 yrs now.

I also take omegas 3-6-9 and since it's a natural anti-inflammatory I feel it helps in conjunction with the others that I take daily, like Vitamin A, bee propolis and a cup of chamomile tea.

Probiotics that I take are called primadophilus reuteri made by natures way have also made a huge difference.

Often it's a combination of things that show improvements compared to just one thing...and what works for some doesn't work for all, but trying things and giving them a fair chance is a step in the right direction...and the things I take don't interfere with oral RX of any kind that I've ever been on, my GI also confirmed they would not be a problem with oral meds used for IBD (but I'm allergic or non-responisve to those anyways).

:)

No side effects what so ever from any of the natural products that I take...

I take one omega 3-6-9 three times a day and I buy mine online from puritans pride and it contains....1200mg of organic flaxseed oil, 1200mg of borage seed oil and 1200mg of fish oil (50% omega 3)...the Vitamin A I take is also a fish oil.

You should check out puritans pride, right now they have a buy one get one free or buy 2, get 3 free sale on, I'm re-stocking as I'm running low on my omegas 3-6-9. I buy my bee propolis, vitamins A and C-calcium ascorbate from there as well.

Tab, I'm still smiling from your "firm believer" - HA! Anyway, that's why I take Meta - morning and night, it helps firm up. Also, one of my fav docs when I lived in VA said most generics are fine but he truly believed Metamucil was the best. I hate having the sugar but can't do the fake stuff. Good luck.

Diagnosed with LS UC 1984, suffered for 16 years, high doses Pred and eased off to Azulfidine; remission for 9 years, just flared recently. Asacol 3, 3x day; 20 ml. Pred.. Heading into remission again with addition of: prayer, deep breathing, walks on the beach and: 4-1000 mg.garlic twice daily; 2 zyflamend twice daily, SuperFoods RX multi-whole food vita twice daily, SuperFoods RX Omega 3; 3 Asacol 3 x day with 3 Vitamin Shoppe Ultimate 10 Probiotic; Metamucil morning and night - no dairy, hardly any coffee, lots of water and green tea. Was using L-Glutamine but read that it can aggravate?
