Hi Lori -- try a heating pad. It works well, and usually I just have to lay flat on my back until the pain subsides. Another thing....sounds silly, but my boyfriend rubs my tummy, and it feels sooooo good. Really helps with the pain. Hey, try and get on a probiotic if you aren't; it's really helped with that "kicked in your gut" feeling with me. Take care, hope you feel better soon.

Tylonel and heating pads are my friends :) I'm sorry that you been feeling so poorly. If the pain becomes too much of a problem, you might want to call your GI and have him prescribe you Darvocet. If you do take a narcotic pain reliever, just a word of warning - it can cause constipation in some because it slows the bowel down. I've had to use Darvocet in the past because of the pain but I only used it sparingly.

Invest in a couple of heating pads! During flares I keep one on the couch and one on the bed - then I don't have to worry about dragging it around.

Yes, sometimes the C from Darvocet is as welcome as the pain relief!! My GI originally prescribed it to help with the cramping I would experience when tapering the pred.

A couple of Benedryl with a couple of Tylenol - concoction also known as Tylenol PM since the antihistamine makes you drowsy - helps me sleep too.

Feel better soon!

yeah thats one of the symptoms i get. i hate the pain, but ive actually gotten used to it. tylenol 3 has helped me in the past, but every time i ask for them i either feel like im asking for something naughty, or if i just dont ask.

heating pads didnt seem to help me, but i know it does for some.

Kelina, no darvocet is a pill you swallow. I'm not sure though if darvocet and Celebrex can be mixed. Why are you on Celebrex? I was told I could never take this due to that it may cause me to flare sinces it's an anti-inflammatory.

Bob - I know what you mean! Anytime I ask for pain pills, I think they're either going to view me as a junkie or a wimp. And I am neither! So normally I don't ask either unless it's realllllly bad.

That pain is like you have been kicked in the stomach all night long, my remedy is similar to others heating pad, how I got by without it I will never know.

Take care.

I never go through a complete precription of Darvocet. But once a year I take the vial into the doc and say I need a refill because this one is expired - just in case! I tried asking for only 15 pills instead of the 30 or 60 they normally right the script for - but the doc ignored me and wrote it for 30 anyway!

Things have to be pretty miserable, like someone did a river dance on my belly, for me to resort to anything other than Tylenol - or Pamprin for lady pain.

Lori, sometimes when my body is healing I get horrendous pain on my left side because I can literally feel stool scraping across my open sores. Are you still having D? For me, this pain would happen when the stool was semi solid or mush to solid. I hope the T3 helps you!
