I know you guys would understand. Bloodwork never bothers me...I just turn my head. I swear 2 minutes before she did it today I started to have major anxiety and just knew it was going to hurt. She found the vein right away but WHAM she shoved that needle in hard. I had to have 3 seperate vials so each time she switched the vial she jammed the needle farther into my arm. I currently look like an IV drug user I'm so bruised. Okay had to vent!

I know what you mean, I found this Quest lab though, the 2 women who usually work there are rude, bossy, and generally nasty people, but I never so much as feel a pinch when I go there so I just put up with them.

Know how you feel... Had a phase where every time I was going for bloods it seemed to be student day, and I'd get some enthusiastic but clearly nervous trainee waggling the needle about and apologising every time I winced... Big blue bruise inside the elbow for about a week after each time!

LOL I think we've all had our own horror stories and lab techs! Myself included :) What I found that works best for me is that after they draw blood to not bend my arm. For some reason if I bend my arm after the take it, I bruise easier and larger.

Sounds like she needed a good hard slap! I've been lucky to always have no problems with getting my blood drawn, the lab techs have also been very lucky I've had no problems LOL!

I'm supposed to go for weekly blood work but I usually go every other week for the Cyclosporine blood work because I hate it so much..... Cyclosporine causes my veins to be very sensitive when they take blood from me so the ladys in the lab started to use BABY NEEDLES on me....it doesn't hurt but probably takes 3 times as long to draw the blood as a regular needle.

Blood work is one of those necessary evils.

Last week the ladys in the lab that I go to told me that I am their "Youngest Regular" :-(
