Lori, you really need to go to the emergency room. That much vomiting and diarrhea can definitely dehydrate you. It can also mess up your sodium and potassium levels, which can affect your heart. I know you don't want to go to the hospital, and I totally sympathize with that. But it really could be critical at this point.

Please go, and let us know how you fare, dear.

So sorry, Lori! Yes, go to the ER...... they'll probably admit you & rehydrate you. Who knows, maybe you'll end up with that "emergency" surgery after all! eyes I hope you feel better soon- please post with updates! Think of the hospital this way- at least you can finally just lie in bed & sleep & not have to make excuses!

In your case the emergency room is the first place you should go.

Please seek medical attention.

Judy

February 04: Rushed to hospital with severe blood haemorrhage. Diagnosed with indeterminate UC in 2/3 of my bowel. Treated with heavy doses of Pred; started Salofalk tabs and sups.

April 06: First major flare – more haemorrhaging. Colonoscopy once against confirmed indeterminate UC.

May 06: Started 40 mg Pred. Weaned down to 10mg by July 8, held at 10mg until December 20, tapering 1mg every 2 weeks, 5mg a day as of February 14. All this plus 10 Salofalk tabs daily.

Jan through May 2007: Suffering from severe headaches and vomiting likely caused by prednisone.

Feb 26 07: Started Imuran with continued success.

May 12 07: Final dose of prednisone after 50 weeks!

Gotta agree Lori......you need to be seen ASAP. We all don't like going to the hospital but sometimes it's a necessity.
