Hi I am finally in remission and my husband and I are trying to have a baby. I am on the rectal meds and Asocal. I think that I have a yeast infection and want to go buy some Monistat for it. Does anyone out there know if it is okay to use the rectal meds with the yeast infection meds? Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks,
Melissa

I wouldn't even think twice about it....I've had yeast infections very very seldom (maybe 3 times), and I've used the rectal meds at the same time as the Canesten "bullets".

You might want to consider adding a probiotic to your supplements to help ward off yeast infections.

I recently had a yeast infection (from antibiotics) while on rectal meds and I had to call the doc for Diflucan (because I couldn't have the inserts due to recent surgery). I had no problem with using both.

I have used Diflucan and the suppositories for yeast infections while taking rectal meds. There weren't any issues with either. That being said, I will always go for the Diflucan from here on out. It's so easy... one pill and you are done! Much better than the suppositories.
Current Medications:
- Asacol (4 pills, 3x per day)
- Rowasa (1 enema daily, as needed)
- Folic Acid (1 mg, 1x per day)
- Calcium (600 mg, 2x per day)
- Prenatal Vitamin (1x per day)
- Iron (2x per day)

Primadophilus Reuteri made by natures way aids with vaginal health....no more yeast infections, so long as you take it daily and it aids with IBD issues (can help simmer the symptoms down quite a bit), lactose intolerance issues and high cholesterol issues as well.

I was severely lactose intolerant but not since taking the primadophilus reuteri everyday, havn't had a single mouth sore or yeast infection either.

:)
My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it!  LOL  :)
