I may have to have my dose of Remicade changed from 5mg to 10mg and then have it moved to 6 weeks instead of 8 weeks. I am going to find out next week depending on the results from my blood test. The blood work is going to be a check of the anti-bodies in my system from the Remicade. We'll see how this goes.

I have been on Remicade since June of 2007. I was doing well for at least 3 months or so maybe a bit longer but then, had a flare again. Was on some prednisone and then well, got a bit better and for the past month or so, major flare and I'm back on 60mg of pred. I had a colonoscopy last week and it showed that half of my colon looks good the other half looks bad...which is why I am back on the pred. Anyway, I personally don't think that the Remicade is working anymore but I am curious to hear what anyone else has experienced with this.

Thank you!

I'm on 5 mg./kg. every 8 weeks. This is the most common dose for UC, however some do need the higher dose and/or more often. Hope it works out for you.

I got upped to 10mgs every 6 weeks and it didn't seem to help and I think it caused my joint pains. I hope you have a better result than I did.

I'm also on the 10mgs/kg, every 6 weeks. I started on the 5mg dose, it worked great for about 3 infusions, then the effects started to lessen. We tried the 10mg dose, have had 4 infusions at that dose- again, the first 2 worked awesome, & it has lessened since then. I mean, I still consider myself to be in remission, but I'm sure my GI would disagree! good luck! I fear that once the high doses lose effectiveness, you're pretty much screwed.... sad
