I've been battling hemorrhoids since July and just recently I noticed a growth that hurt like a hemorrhoid but wasn't on the anus or even close, its down more...It's actually kind of freaking me out. I see my GI in March and I'll talk to him then but do any of you have an idea what this could be?? I remember seeing a post on perianal skin tags that accompanies Crohn's but when I was first flaring, my GI had my DNA checked and I didn't have the correct markers for Crohn's so I don't really know what to think

Hi Sam :)

This link shows pics of hemmies first, and under them it shows pics of perianal crohns skin tags (aka; elephant ears)...what does your resemble (If either)?

Hemmies are from the anus as are perianal crohns skin tags but sometimes the tags can be further away from the anus...you could also be experiancing an abcess, which unfortunatly is also directly related to crohns.

Sam, are you talking about your pubic area? If so, do you shave that area? I'm sorry if that's personal but I know sometimes if it's in the pubic area and you shave, you can have an ingrown hair that can be quite painful. Or it could even be a plain simple skin tag. But for your sake, I sincerely hope that it's not a perianal skin tag!

Sounds like a skintag but you are best getting it checked out for your own peace of mind.
